O'BLENESS, GORDON E
[br][br]Gordon was born in Baca County, Colorado, to Ivan and Hazel O'Bleness. He died in Spokane at the age of 88.
In 1937 he moved with his family from Kansas to Kingston, Idaho. In 1942 Gordon was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He firmly believed that taking up arms in warfare would violate Christ's direction to love one's neighbors and even one's enemies. This caused him to take a strictly neutral position in political matters. When 18 years old, Gordon refused to report for military service and was arrested. In Coeur d'Alene he was sentenced to 26 months in Federal prison. He used his time in prison as an opportunity to grow in knowledge and stronger in faith through study and prayer. After release in 1946 he met Lorraine Becklund. They married in 1948 and lived in Coeur d'Alene, setting a fine example as hard workers who were loyal to God and each other. They moved to Spokane in 1976 and enjoyed serving with Sunset Hill and South Hill Congregations. Jehovah's Witnesses have no salaried clergy so in Coeur d'Alene Gordon worked at NIC, Diamond National sawmill, and built homes. Later he did maintenance work and apartment management. After retirement, they sold wooden puzzle boxes made by Gordon, often at craft shows.
Gordon had confidence in his creator's promise to end all suffering and restore peace to the earth. His family and friends look forward to being reunited with him when he is resurrected in the promised Paradise. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lorraine, his parents, brother Lawrence, and in-laws, Alfred and Lydia Becklund. He is survived by his sisters Eunice and Dorothy, brothers Andrew, Arthur, Bruce, and Martin, children Mark, Nathan, and Julie, ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.

SETTERLUND, CONRAD E
[br][br]Passed away on April 15, 2014 in Spokane, WA. He was born in Belfy, MT on November 6, 1923. After growing up in Belfry, he attended avionics school in Helena and graduated with his AF/PP certification. After finishing school he enlisted in the US Navy and was a pipe fitter in the SEABEES and was stationed in the Russell islands in the South Pacific until the end of WWII. After being discharged from the Navy, he enrolled at WSU. He graduated from there with a BA in economics/education. While attending college he met and later married Joan Lilley. Conrad became a teacher and after living a short time in Waterville, WA they settled in Spokane where he taught in the West Valley School District. After retiring from teaching, Conrad pursued a wide variety of interests that led him to Rock Springs, WY where he eventually went to work for Mountain Fuel which later became Questar Corp. Later in life he moved to Anchorage, AK to spend time with some of his children. He eventually moved back to Spokane for the last three and a half years of his life to spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed a relentless pursuit of knowledge and new experiences until he passed away. His quick wit and willingness to share his knowledge will be greatly missed. Conrad was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Ann Setterlund, brother Donald, sister Marian, wife Joan, and son John. He is survived by his daughters Debbie Flaim, Becky Rodenbough, and Cherie Setterlund. And by son Robert B. Setterlund. Also grandchildren Joey, Francis, Holly, Mathew, and Wyatt. VANDELAARE, RICHARD E
Richard E VanDeLaare 83, of Spokane, WA died June 5, 2014 at North Central Care Center. Richard was born March 21, 1931 in Kalamazoo, MI to Melvin and Aretha (Shallhorn) VanDeLaare. He graduated from Central High School in Kalamazoo. He Joined to USAF on December 28, 1950. He retired September 28, 1983 as a Chief Master Sargent with several distinguished service medals including a Bronze Star. He spent his retirement working a few jobs to keep busy, then took care of this wife Lynn, in the last stages of her life. He married his current wife Verna VanDeLaare in October of 1999 and they hopped in their motor home and toured the US. He thoroughly enjoyed his trips around the country and loved to bowl. He was on several bowling leagues throughout his life until he went to the North Central Care Center. He is survived by his current wife, Verna VandeLaare, brothers Charles VanDeLaare (Evelyn), Darrell VanDeLaare (Ann). Daughters Bonita Curtis ( Rodney), Karen VanDeLaare (Ginger), Kim Lemon (Kevin), and Kelli Rice (Gary). Stepchildren Brenda Scott, Betty Scott, Bradley Scott and Baraba Dell, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several step grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 44 years, Lynn C VanDeLaare (Springer), and his brother Bertrum Vandelaare. Memorial services will be held Thursday June 12, 2014 at 11 am at Holy Cross Cemetery, in the mausoleum. Interment will be at Holy Cross, where he will laid to beside his wife Lynn C VanDeLaare. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project. Richard was proud of his service to this country and would like his fellow servicemen and women to benefit from his memory.

[br][br]Karolee entered into rest on June 9, 2014 after battling numerous health issues. She was born in Spokane June 23, 1949 to Bill and Jeannine Tumlinson.
Karolee was a generous woman who would give you the shirt off her back.
She loved to play Bingo and watching Lifetime movies.
Karolee was preceded in death by her grandson Ethan James and her mother Jeannine. Born July 20, 1926 A WWII Army veteran and master saddle maker. He is survived by his daughter Julie Hipp, grandchildren Marissa, Marley and Mila Hipp, David and Stephen Guyette, and Ricquel Redhorse.

[br][br]Fred Utter, Jr.
Fred peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 1, 2014 surrounded by his children. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Nancy who passed away in 2012.
Fred and Nancy lived in Spokane, WA until 2005 when they moved to Tucson, AZ.
Fred is survived by his children Cindy Taylor, Carol O'Cell, Rick Utter and Laura Utter. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.
