It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our Father - Lawrence Lee Porter. Born in Joplin, Missouri on June 02, 1936 left us on January 19, 2016. The only son born to Henry Byron Porter & Esther Mae Porter. He went into the Air Force and graduated from Lackland Air Force Base San Antonio, Texas - SQUADRON 3723 FLIGHT898. He served our country at the end of the Korean War and during the Vietnam War. After a back injury he was advised he wouldn't be able to fly again he became an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA until his retirement. He is survived by his sons Kevin Dale, Ricky Alan and Bradley Jon Porter and daughter Tracy Anne Porter. He bought his house at 5921 S. Lee St in 1970 and lived there until his death Jan 19, 2016. A man of integrity and honesty he was trusted by many who knew him. To his family he is a hero, a man to look up to with pride. Pa you'll forever remain in my heart, remembered and never forgotten. Soar with the Eagles now and watch over the ones still here on the ground. You've earned your wings now take flight...
