
[br][br]Harvey John Walters Jr. was born in Spokane, WA on September 11, 1928, to Harvey & Alta Walters. He attended Rogers and Lewis & Clark High School, graduating in 1947. He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy, in 1948. He managed Diamond Bowl for 20 years, worked as a carpenter for Petik & Sandberg and started his own business in 1950, which was renamed H. J. Walters & Son Custom Building in 1976. Harvey's work includes the Manito picnic shelter, Silver Lanes, Tradewinds & numerous custom homes. He was an avid fisherman, model train enthusiast, master craftsman & enjoyed creating beautiful stained glass windows. Harvey passed on Sunday, October 26, 2014 peacefully in the home he designed & built 48 years ago, surrounded by family. He is preceeded in death by his daughter Sharon, 3 sisters (Lorraine, Pearl & Betty) and his parents. Harvey is survived by his wife Peggy, his sons Michael (Jean), Tim & Randy (Caren). He has 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren & numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday November 1, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home (508 N Government Way). In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Harvey's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Spokane.
