RIVER OF NO MERCY
(Ode to Michael)
I live near her,
They call her,
The river of No Return.
Dark treacherous waters,
And I will soon learn,
Not to be careless,
Where the rivers concerned.
Tread softly,
And walk very slow,
Not to get caught,
In the undertow.
Not to be fooled,
By the rivers calm,
The quiet seduction,
Of the river at dawn.
What happened,
What went wrong,
I think about it,
All day long.
River, oh river,
How angry you are,
Did I get too close,
Have I gone too far.
Are you lonely too,
Like that shooting star,
River, oh river,
Have I gone too far.
Am I in over my head,
Merciless river, am I dead.
The currant is fast,
And I'm so out of breath,
Some say the river,
Is the river of death.
I was looking for love,
And losing the fight,
River, oh river,
I'm lonely tonight.
I need to talk,
And you know me so well,
Take me to Heaven,
And not to hell.
I'm lost, oh river,
But I want to be free,
River have mercy on me.
God, there You are,
My very best Friend,
It's good, Dear Lord,
To see you again.
My heart is beating,
Ever so fast,
But my Friend God,
Is here at last.
God will rescue me,
From this misery,
From the river,
Of no mercy.
God will save me,
And take me home,
Now I'll never,
Be alone.

Of heartless lies,
Many were here,
And said their goodbyes.
God's arms are open,
And He beckons to me,

Michael McCann was found in the Spokane river, Monday May 12th at 5:00 pm. He was 51 years old. Cause of death is a mystery.
Cause of life was to love us.
