TOWNE, ROBERT C

[br][br]Passed away on April 23, 2016 in Spokane Valley, WA. Bob was born on October 22, 1924 in Aberdeen, WA to Seth Towne and Gisela Pirker. After graduation, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He moved to Spokane, WA where he met and married his wife, Anne Towne, on December 11,1959. He spent his career in the coffee business working for Boyd's, M & K and Farmer Brothers Coffee. After retirement he enjoyed spending his summers at their lake place in Twin Lakes, WA where he loved to fish, boat and swim. During the winter months he loved to bowl. He also loved listening to Dixie Land Jazz and they traveled all over to attend jazz festivals. He was a very accomplished musician himself; playing the saxophone and clarinet in a band that played for the Elk's Club back in the 1960's. He also enjoyed spending time at Cannon Beach, OR every summer where he loved to fly his kites. He was an avid and loyal UW Huskies football fan. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Babe and Betty, son Randy Towne, and beloved wife Anne Towne. He is survived by his daughter Marnee Beck and fiancé Dave Bambino, son Jeff Towne and wife Deeann, grandchildren Gabrielle and Vanessa Towne, son Robin Towne and fiancé Patty Schaefer, grandchildren Jacy and Randy Towne. "We miss you dad and you will never be forgotten. You will live on in our hearts forever." At Bob's request there will be no services. A celebration of life will take place with his family at a later date. Special thanks to Shori and Brian Shorak for their kindness and the loving care they provided our dad for the past five years. Donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association.
