BROWN, DOROTHY L

[br][br]Dorothy passed away May 4, 2016 after battling pancreatic cancer. Born Dorothy Kehle in Tacoma Washington, she was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Madeline Kehle. Dorothy had previously lived in Tacoma Washington as well as Portland Oregon. Dorothy was a graduate of Lewis & Clark High School Class of 1954 and briefly attended college at the University of Idaho. A longtime resident of Spokane, she met and later married James Brown in 1958. Dorothy graduated from Kinman Business School and proudly worked for the Crescent Department Store as an executive secretary. She left the Crescent to focus on raising her three children, but later worked part time for the Spokane School District serving lunches at McDonald Elementary School during the mid 1970's. Dorothy was a long time member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and enjoyed camping, cooking and gardening. Later in life her passion became caring for her rescued American Eskimo dogs. Dorothy is survived by her Husband James, Sons Jeff & Gary, Daughter Diane, Brothers David and Robert Kehle, and Grandson Andrew. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy's family would appreciate donations to Catholic Charities Spokane or the Spokane Humane Society. A Memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday May 14 at 1 pm.
