Surrounded by his adoring family, Michael Gilbert Davis entered heaven on October 14th, 2015. Born on February 4th, 1930 to Helen and Paul McKissock in North Irwin, Pennsylvania, where he developed a passion for Steeler black and yellow. After high school, Mike joined the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War. While serving, he met the love of his life Annabelle Bichler. Mike spent his free time salivating over Anne's homemade dinners and enjoying his retirement years as chauffeur for his grandchildren, always arriving curbside with chocolate, soda, and "I've Got Rings on My Fingers" playing. In the evenings, he loved relaxing in his recliner with Louie, his pup. The great outdoors were Mike's haven, always on the lookout for an eagle. He volunteered his time to Gonzaga Prep Football and the ARC of Spokane. Mike was the proudest patriarch never missing important moments. Mike embodied a strong work ethic, an ability to suspend judgment, and a keen sense of selflessness. Dad, Gramps, Bumpa, Mr. D, Mike...we will spend our lives searching for moments filled with you! Mike is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anne, and his eight children, Dale Davis, Gary Davis, Mary Jilbert (Michael), Stacey Higgins (H.T.), Tom Davis (Dawn), Laurel Davis (Louie), and Sean Davis (Deanna), 19 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Mike was preceded in death by his son Michael A. Davis and his parents. A memorial service will be held at 11:15 am, Friday, October 23rd at the Washington State Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at any STCU branch to benefit charitable work with the ARC of Spokane (Account #20018266516, Routing #325182700).
