
[br][br]WINN, Mary E. (Heffernan) passed away peacefully in her home in Spokane, WA. She was 74. Mary was born on the family ranch in Williston, North Dakota on March 22, 1941 to W. Lawrence and B. Cecilia (Knutson) Heffernan. The family moved to Spokane in 1948. She graduated from the all girls private school Holy Names Academy in 1959 & married her first husband Frederick A. Slentz in 1961. They had five children together. She later married James Winn in 1998. Mary is survived by her children & their spouses, Amy (Phyllis), Michael (Tawney), Barbara (Alan), Joan (Robert) & James (Kali). Three siblings, Patricia (Leo), David (Sue) & James (Sandi). Eight grandchildren, Ashley, Gabriella, Nicholas, Majla, Donovan, Alexandra, Joey & Gavin as well as many nieces & nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Cecilia, husbands Fred & Jim, two brothers Dennis & John, nephew Wayne & niece Kimme. Mary traveled extensively & loved her work in geology & mining. She was very artistic & took great pleasure in drawing as well as making her own jewelry & clothing for her children when they were younger. She successfully ran her own restaurant in Depoe Bay,Oregon where she was famous for her giant pancakes. She was a very active member of the Eagles Lodge, especially in Lincoln City, OR where she enjoyed donating her time to cook & bake for large groups. She liked going to the races & going on cruises with friends. She will be remembered by many. There will not be a service per Mary's request.
