Sharon Cecelia Mata of Sequim, Washington, was 5 days shy of her 81st birthday when she passed away on April 24, 2015 from complications related to pneumonia. Her family was at her side.
She was born on April 29, 1934 in Kenmare, North Dakota, to Matthew and Eva Mellon. Her sisters Patricia Disciascio and Colleen Henderson preceded her in death.
Sharon attended Rogers High School in Spokane, Washington. She was married in 1962 to Rich McDonald and later married Ted Mata in 2001. She worked for various companies as a secretary until she retired and moved to Sequim, Washington with her husband.
Survivors include her husband, Ted Mata, her daughter, Lisa Curran, her son, Lane (Shelley) McDonald, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her sweet dog, Murrey.
A memorial service will be held May 16th, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Opportunity Baptist Church at 13620 E. Broadway Ave, Spokane Valley, WA.
